Terms of service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

1. Who we are

LienClock (lienclock.ca) is operated by Manara Ventures Ltd., Vancouver, British Columbia. These terms govern your use of the site, including the deadline calculator, the CPPA readiness audit, the guides, the waitlist, and the tracker demo. By using the site you agree to them.

2. Not legal advice, and no lawyer-client relationship

LienClock provides general information about statutory deadlines under British Columbia construction legislation. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for legal advice, and using the site does not create a lawyer-client or any advisory relationship. Deadlines depend on the facts of each project, and edge cases (multiple certificates, abandonment, phased projects, contractual variations) can change the outcome. Confirm any date that matters with a BC construction lawyer before relying on it.

3. Accuracy and changes in the law

We work to keep the deadline logic current, including tracking the Construction Prompt Payment Act as its regulations are finalized. The law can change faster than any website, numbers shown for legislation not yet in force are subject to the final regulations, and we do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete, or current. Outputs are computed from the dates you enter; wrong inputs produce wrong outputs.

4. The demo

The tracker demo at /demo uses fictional sample data. Any company or project names there are invented, and any resemblance to real firms is coincidental. Data you type into the demo stays in your browser and is not saved or transmitted.

5. Document templates

Draft documents and templates shown on the site are previews pending review by legal counsel, are watermarked as drafts, and must not be used on a live project. When document generation launches as a paid feature, generated documents will remain your responsibility to review and, where appropriate, have reviewed by a lawyer before use.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site: no attempting to breach security, no scraping at volumes that degrade the service, no reselling or republishing the site's content or outputs as your own product, and no using the site to send spam or unlawful communications.

7. Intellectual property

The site's content, design, calculators, and code are owned by Manara Ventures Ltd. and protected by copyright. Statutes and legal deadlines themselves are public information; the way LienClock explains, computes, and presents them is not. You may share links and reasonable excerpts with attribution.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LienClock and Manara Ventures Ltd. are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its outputs, including missed deadlines, lost lien rights, unreleased holdback, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the free site is limited to $100 CAD. If you later subscribe to a paid plan, the paid plan's terms will state the applicable cap. Some protections cannot be excluded by law; nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Material changes to how the paid product works will be communicated to subscribers directly. Questions: hello@lienclock.ca. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
