Privacy policy

The short version

We collect your email when you ask us to (waitlist or audit report), plus your audit answers so we can build the report. No advertising trackers, no selling data, no marketing email without an explicit checkbox. Data you type into the demo never leaves your browser.

What we collect and why

• Waitlist signups: your email address and the role you select, so we can tell you when the tracker launches and when the CPPA in-force date is announced.
• CPPA readiness audit: your answers and, if you request the full report, your email address so we can send it. Aggregated, de-identified audit answers also help us understand where BC contractors are least ready.
• Demo and calculator: dates and projects you enter are processed in your browser and are not saved or transmitted to us.
• Email: if you email us, we keep the correspondence.

Marketing consent (CASL)

Requested transactional email (your audit report, a launch notification you signed up for) is sent on that basis alone. Marketing or follow-up email is sent only if you ticked the express-consent checkbox, which is never pre-checked. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate.

Cookies and analytics

LienClock does not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers, and does not run third-party analytics scripts on your browser.

Where data lives

Signups and audit responses are stored with Supabase (database hosting) and email is delivered through Resend; the site is hosted on Vercel and Cloudflare provides DNS and email routing. Some of these providers store data in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We share personal information with no one else, and we do not sell it.

Retention and your rights

We keep signups until launch communications are done or you ask to be removed, whichever comes first. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: email hello@lienclock.ca and we will act on it promptly. This site is operated from British Columbia and handles personal information in line with PIPEDA and BC's Personal Information Protection Act.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes affecting data we already hold will be emailed to affected signups.
